The H. Upmann No. 2 Reserva Cosecha is a rather provocative representative of the famous Cuban marque, capable of evoking intense emotions and surprising even the most experienced aficionados. Presented in an elegant Pirámide format (measuring 156 mm in length with a 52 ring gauge), this Havana is rolled entirely by hand using the finest Cuban tobaccos. The vitola is characterized by an abundance of thick smoke, a flawless burn, and a perfect draw, offering a thrilling and highly dynamic smoking experience that lasts approximately 85 minutes. The flavor profile evolves with dramatic contrasts. From the very first draws, a powerful burst of rich coffee grounds and noble wood rushes in, creating an immediate sense of wild, unbridled strength. The smoke then briefly calms and rounds out, introducing a subtle sweetness intertwined with baking spices. However, this is by no means a mild cigar: provocative, fiery spikes of green chili and black peppercorns soon emerge. Approaching the middle, the character becomes less sharp, yet a pleasant peppery tingle remains on the palate. Toward the finish, dense notes of oak bark strongly push to the forefront, while the signature spiciness persists to the very end. To perfectly complement its complex and robust nature, this cigar strongly demands a glass of fine Sherry, specifically a noble Oloroso.
